Moa Tent

The presale has ended for the 2023 version. Please place a back-in-stock request to be notified when the updated version is available. The following describes the 2023 version, future versions are subject to change before product release.

It’s big as, and it’s made in New Zealand - so we call it the “Moa”.

These ultralight tents are filled with meaningful features, well-thought-out vertical space, and top-of-class storage and livability. They're also versatile enough to be used as a tent, a tarp, or with the bug net alone so you can sleep under the stars.

What we’ve achieved through our testing and prototyping phase is a comfortable and practical ultralight tent at a competitive price. This giant double-wall tent is made from cutting-edge materials, including a fly made from the new Challenge Sailcloth UltraTNT laminate (read more about it in our previous newsletter HERE). The result is an ultralight fly that doesn’t tear, won’t absorb water or sag, has a waterproof rating of 140,000mm (yes really, that’s 50- to 100-fold more than traditional tent fabrics), and is both cheaper and more wear-resistant than the Dyneema/DCF alternatives found in other ultralight tents.

Our materials are globally sourced, and the tents are locally manufactured. We start with the best materials for the job coming from Challenge Sailcloth and RipStop By the Roll in the USA. After that, all our manufacturing takes place locally in Nelson, NZ. From the local fabric cutter, to the neighbourhood sewist, to our own shop where we put it all together - what you get it a cutting-edge product made locally to keep the price and impact low!
